Computers, games, apples, and big cats...

Okay, so what exactly have I been
doing lately if all the arcade stuff is packed away? Well, this has
been going on for a few months now and to start off with I found
myself actually watching the TV, something I don't normally do too
much of. Stargate Atlantis had started back up, as had A Town
Called Eureka. One afternoon we stumbled across a catch up weekend
of Heroes entirely by accident out of boredom and that quickly got
added to the list, but there's only so much TV that someone who
doesn't normally watch it can take!

Retro OSX gaming

Was playing around with AppleScript
tonight and created a very trivial little front end for starting
sdlmame on OSX. Well, more of a dialogue than a front end really.
Anyway, if you use sdlmame on a Mac, don't really like bloated
front ends with all their screenshots and other stuff then checkout
the article, it's under "Misc Stuff" on the left. Wth just a few
lines of script then you can avoid having to drop into the terminal
all the time! I'll do a bit more work on it another time to add a
couple of minor extra features but that'll do as a starter to get
you going.
Also found a bunch more repair logs that I must find the time to write up! 3 for Centipede and 1 for a bootleg PacMan pcb that turned out to actually be a Ms PacMan pcb when i got it going (shame!)

Also changed from the PC world to the Mac world and am doing quite a lot of internal work on the site to reflect this. I hope to be incorporating a blog / diary / call it what you will which will firstly allow me to maintain this home page better, and secondly will allow me to add a diary of my experiences with the switch to the Mac. Yes, I know, not arcade related, but hey, hopefully interesting none the less. In fact, may have a couple of non arcade related things coming up for the site sometime soon...
